Ambulatory 24 Hour Blood Pressure Monitors

Ambulatory 24 Hour Blood Pressure Machines are used to monitor a patient’s blood pressure whilst they are out and about performing their normal tasks. Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is thought to provide a more reliable measure of a patient’s blood pressure as measurements taken in isolated clinical environments are at risk of being affected by white coat hypertension.

Ambulatory Blood Pressure is measured at regular intervals (normally every 20-30 minutes) over a 24 hour period. The patient wears the monitor on a belt which is connected to a cuff on their arm and continues their day as usual including any activities they would normally perform and sleep. Once the 24 hour period is complete the patient takes the device back to their doctor where it is connected to a computer and a report is downloaded.

Medilogic stocks 24 Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors for sale in Australia – most notably the Welch Allyn 7100. Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors are normally more expensive and more delicate than Professional Blood Pressure Monitors.

The Welch Allyn 7100 is an easy-to-use lightweight machine that has auto feedback logic during inflation for excellent patient comfort and unlimited protocols for programming measurement periods. It also offers a connectivity option to the CardioPerfect Workstation software.
